And one of the most recent series I've picked up is the much-acclaimed (at least by a very particular quarter of nerddom) is JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Let me tell you, the art style and balance of serious plots next to deranged action segments is an acquired taste for sure. I tried reading part 2 a few years back, and dropped it after a while due to most of the story being built on what seemed to be bullshit at the time. The trick is to focus more of the "what" as opposed to the "HOW THE HELL?" Because if you don't get distracted by the author's... artistic take on anatomy and physics, you'll find some of the most cerebral fights between characters with superpowers in any medium.

That, and the series is a treasure-trove of horror references, with the peak being part 3 in which every other enemy seems to be either a reference to a cult-film, or Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories.

Has anyone else looked into JoJo? Recommended for fans of action, fantasy, and (initially) Victorian drama turned batshit horror story.
“The Fright Night remake is a film which taps into the audience’s deepest rooted fears, such as those of vampires throwing motorcycles at them. I dread the thought of a vampire throwing a refrigerator or a deskjet printer or... I’d better stop before I give myself nightmares”
