Bigfoot hunters find corpse, arrange press conference

There's reports that two Bigfoot hunters in Georgia have found a Bigfoot corpse in the woods. They've got it stuck in a freezer, will get it verified by science.

The corpse was apparently found in the state of Georgia on the East coast of the US, but the press release will be in California all the way over on the opposite side of the country. They'll also only be be presenting "DNA evidence and photo evidence" at the press conference and not the actual corpse.

Hmmm. Interesting. I went and read the press release at Tom 'the real Bigfoot Hunter' Biscardi's site http://www.searchingforbigfoot.com. It seems that Biscardi is the guy who initiated the press conference.

Biscardi wasn't actually involved in finding the corpse and there's no mention that he's been out to the site at all. The body was found by "Matthew Whitton (AKA Gary Parker) and Rick Dyer" (I guess "Gary Parker" is his secret Bigfoot hunter identity, to throw Bigfoot off his trail if he gets suspicious or something) who are the owners of http://www.bigfoottracker.com, "The Best Bigfoot Trackers In The World!"
These two guys regularly hold Bigfoot safaris, charging people $$$ to go out into the wilderness with them to hunt for Bigfoot. To quote from their site:

Sometime recently (they never say exactly when they did find it) these two 'professional' Bigfoot hunters stumbled allegedly stumbled across the corpse in the forest. How did they announce their discovery to the world? To quote from the press release:

A few weeks ago, Whitton and Dyer announced the finding of the body on the "Squatch Detective" radio show, an internet based radio show hosted by Steve Kulls. While on that show, the commentator asked Rick Dyer "Would you allow one of our people to come down and verify the body?" Dyer replied, "The only person we would allow to come down and verify the body was 'the real Bigfoot Hunter,' Tom Biscardi." The next day, the producer of the Squatch Detective show contacted Biscardi with pertinent information on how to contact Dyer and Whitton.

Yep, they announced it via podcast. Now if you'd dedicated the last three years of your life to tracking down Bigfoot, wouldn't you at some point asked yourself "Hey, what are we actually going to do if we catch the damn thing?" I would've asked myself that. Apparently these guys didn't.

Biscardi has called a press conference and is telling the entire world about it. How are Whitton and Dyer reacting?

Yep, they're asking for cash, as much as they can get as quickly as they can get it.

My guess is that Whitton and Dyer were making stuff up on the podcast and when the host asked them to back up their story by letting someone examine the corpse they said they'd only let Biscardi look at it. I'm guessing that Biscardi is the kinda guy who'll jump at any chance to bring proof of his life's obsession to the public and these two hicks knew they had a good chance of convincing him. The dummied up some fake Bigfoot corpse and stuck it in the spare freezer in their garage and somehow managed to convince Biscardi it was legit, and he then went running off to organise the media releases and whatnot. Whitton and Dyer, realising that this is all getting out of control and will all collapse in a heap very soon, are trying to squeeze a few extra thousand bucks out of their tours before the shit hits the fan.

Even other Bigfoot organizations are quickly distancing themselves from these guys. The Bigfoot Field Researchers Organizaton is being quite vocal in denouncing this as a hoax.

Whitton is on medical leave from the police force (apparently he accidentally shot himself in the arm whislt chasing a suspect, you can see the bandages in the photo posted earlier) and his police chief is less than impressed with his current antics.

It will be verrrrrry interesting to see what photos and "DNA evidence" they exhibit at the press conference, if it happens. If it is an actual Bigfoot corpse then it should be verifiable pretty much immediately under proper examination by any reputable biologist, anthropologist, paleontologist or even a damn veterinarian or med school student. If they present an 'inconclusive' report or say that they need more time for proper scientific examinations then they're simply stalling for time and hoping that people channel more cash into their online Bigfoot merchandise stores.
