Ever since news broke of Todd Farmer and Patrick Lussier reteaming to bring us Halloween 3D, we've been hoping and praying that the film gets made because we believe this duo have the chops to get the Halloween franchise back on the track that it needs to be on.

Unfortunately there's been a bit of turmoil along the way, but that hasn't stopped the legendary Tom Atkins from talking a bit about his character returning to the franchise to finally come face-to-face with The Shape.

During an interview with Fangoria regarding his latest film (which will also be for Farmer and Lussier) Drive Angry, in which he'll play Cap — the captain of the Oklahoma State Troopers, Atkins revealed the following about his role in the highly anticipated sequel: [He would be playing] "a shrink in a mental hospital that Laurie [Scout Taylor-Compton] is in with a bunch of other girls who have been up to no good. I'm trying to help them find a way to the light."

And who better to do so? Just the presence of Atkins in the flick would be a great nod to the highly underrated and bastardized Halloween III: Season of the Witch and for our money finally getting a confrontation between Atkins and Myers would be worth the price of admission alone!

Stay tuned, and keep your fingers crossed!

My comments on this? Ughhhhh...im so glad this new re-visioned franchise of Halloween isnt the original. This series has been put to shame! Thank god the original still reigns! I dont care who is in it either. People seem to have forgotten what the hell horror movies is all about in this day an age. Let alone how to make them. Only this time we get to see the shit in 3D! Yay! Not!

Halloween 2 was terrible so I'm not hyped up at all to see a part 3. All I'm saying is that hopefully these guys can do better than Rob Zombie.

Both Zombie remakes were terrible. I have little interest in spending my money to go see this 3D one in theaters. The trailer will have to be incredible to pull me back in.

I don't know about everyone else, but I am getting tired of all these remakes and drawn out sequels. Give me something original again!

I'm pretty sure this will end up a "dead" project just like Dimension's Hellraiser remake. And fuck it being in 3D it doesn't need the crap.

I'm with Blue. I actually wish it does become a dead project and if it does take off... why the 3D again? What do people like about 3D?

More importantly, what do people see in a 3D HALLOWEEN? o.O

I mean, in the Halloween series, the action tends to be very slow and very un-dynamic. Unless they fuck things up and make the killer run (or unless this is in fact a remake of Season of the Witch, which could be good in 3D with all the trippy commercials and potential for exploding masks and shit), the best they could do with 3D is make more POV shots to better show the rooms the film will take place in.
“The Fright Night remake is a film which taps into the audience’s deepest rooted fears, such as those of vampires throwing motorcycles at them. I dread the thought of a vampire throwing a refrigerator or a deskjet printer or... I’d better stop before I give myself nightmares”

I honestly have no idea why a Halloween movie would need to be in 3D.

So it could be a better "exprience" for the fans.

The POV shots would be butchered by the 3D and would result in me laughing so hard that I'd be thrown out of the theater for disruption. It would be like Friday the 13th part 3. They would take out the slow buildup and amp it up so that Mike would be running, swinging axes into people and throwing shit at the screen. They'll sacrifice everything that made Halloween good just to make a buck off the 3D. Though Halloween III would be cool in 3D but only as a re-release.

I'd rather see that than another Rob Zombie remake.
