Actor Robert Knepper (Prison Break's "T-Bag") plays a ghost, which are known as "deado" in the movie.

Model-turned-actress Marisa Miller will be in the film as the "human avatar" of Jeff Bridges ghost character, apparently it's the form humans see when he's in his "earthly form".

Mary-Louise Parker is in negotiations to play the character that oversees the R.I.P.D.

Actress Stephanie Szostak will play the wife of Ryan Reynold's character.

Kevin Bacon will play the villain in the film.

Back when Zach Galifianakis mas still attached to the project, his character was described as a "wise-cracking officer who's been hunting spirits since the 1800s."

Comedian/Actor Zach Galifianakis was originally going to play a fellow cop and partner to Ryan Reynold's character, but he had to drop out of the project due to scheduling conflicts.

Directed by Robert Schwentke (The Time Traveler's Wife, Red).

The film's title R.I.P.D. stands for the "Rest in Piece Department."
