Anyone else seen this? I've seen the movie before, and actually enjoyed it. You can pick it up for a measly $10. If you were one of those lucky people whom ordered it from Amazon, it came in a combo pack with a VHS version of the film. If you were lucky enough to snag that, I highly suggest you keep it sealed. One day, it will be worth some dough. Actually, it's already starting to become expensive. I looked on Amazon and someone was selling that version for $100.
Anyways, I liked it. It's supposed to look like a 70's/80's horror movie and I think Ti West did a great job with it. The pool scene was awesome, along with the dance scene. Also, the "Are you not the babysitter" scene was bad ass! I did not see that one coming; at all. That's all I can say without giving too much away.

It's worth stating that it pays heavy homage to 80s and 70s horror so people should understand that it starts off very slow and builds up. It's rich in tone and atmosphere. Needless to say I loved it.
(Shameless self-promotion time)I reviewed it here:

Quote:Now, what makes this movie so similar to 80âs horror? Well, Iâve heard some people rave about the picture quality and the props, well; I didnât really notice anything about the picture quality and the props you get that with every period movie. What really made this film a tribute was the cinematography and the progression of the storyline. In the beginning, the scenes would freeze-frame while the credits appeared. There are quick cuts, long zooms and loud sound effects⦠all attributing the 80âs horror.
I didn't pay much attention to the picture quality. What really caught my eye was the cinematography. Also, the progression of the storyline. Those ugly ass yellow credits at the end on-top of pictures was just bad ass.
Quote:As for the horror itself; it delivers. I actually jumped up a couple of times and much like the 80s brand of horror, there are a few cliché scares. House of the Devil also goes for shock horror. Everything up until the end is creepy and ominous and when the end scenes play out⦠itâs like watching an acid trip and there are flashes of demonic images and bright colors. There is very little gore but there are disturbing scenes involving sacrifices and blood consumption. Even the score is very high strung and shrilling.
I was so bummed out that they didn't have the chick naked for the final scene. I mean, it's a sacrifice to Satan! Have that chick naked! ...bummed.

Out running a killer is like out running a bear, you don't have to run just have a friend that is slower than you!

Alright i found it and i watched it last night. I liked the fact that it has that 80s feel and look to it. Brings back those old horror days. But it was pretty slow going. It didnt really start to get going until towards the end when she passed out and they tied her up for the ritual. But other then that it was pretty good. Id recommend it. I also found Trick r Treat and Kingdom of the Spiders and Phantasm while i was there.

Oh i have had Kingdom of the Spiders on VHS for a long time. I saw it was on DVD and grabbed it up. Kingdom of the Spiders i think is THEE best horror movie about tarantulas. Its just something you have to see. I dont want to say to much then if you havent seen it. But i say get it. But remember it is an old movie so be patient with it. The first time i saw the ending to this movie it just gave me CHILLS!!!!

Just to let everyone know in case anyone planned on trying to buy this bundle at Amazon...they raised the price on it. Its now $31.49. It was $27.99 when i ordered it a few days ago. I sugggest that you grab it up if you have the spare cash. Ive already seen this going for double the price on some sites and someone is selling it on Amazon for $99 already. Supposedly there is only 1000 of these bundles to be had.

Yeah you should if you can! I was hesitant at first because i didnt understand how Amazon worked. But after your figure it out and get the hang of it..its pretty easy. You can buy straight from Amazon or buy something from an individual seller there. But make sure you check their feedback etc. before you buy. I try to stick with 99% and 100% with sellers on there. Hard to trust peeps these days.
