Here on TH, we bitch alot about horror because we're so passionate about it. But what gets your panties in a bunch the most....
Hearing an original is being remade
Your favorite movie is turning into a franchise...sequels galore
Horror in 3D
M. Night directed the movie

Remakes takes it pretty easily. M Night is unfairly bashed although he has had flops. Sequels can be great; look at Psycho II, that was an amazingly hard to follow up film and yet it worked awesomely. 3D can be shit, but not necessarily. Like I've said, 3D is just a visual element, and really has no bearing on plot unless the director lets it.
Remakes on the other hand are a different beast. They can be good, but the problem is that usually they aren't. They're usually just done to make money, make it off of films that can't really be improved and moreover don't need to be improved.
âThe Fright Night remake is a film which taps into the audienceâs deepest rooted fears, such as those of vampires throwing motorcycles at them. I dread the thought of a vampire throwing a refrigerator or a deskjet printer or... Iâd better stop before I give myself nightmaresâ

I try to not judge sequels, prequels, or remakes.

3D, it serves no purpose except to make us pay more money, and when all theaters around you are either AMCs or other big movie chains they don't bother showing movies in 2D until a week or two after its release. Sequals can always be fun, it really depends on the movie. Not all remakes have to be bad, Michael Bay just got real lazy when it came to remaking NOES.

Why are so many people voting for Remakes? :reddisgust: This is kind of disheartening...

Remakes. There is not originality in a remake. At least, not in today's world. With sequels it gives the director/writer to think of a new story but still retain what was good from the original. You can argue that the same could be done with remake but name me 3 remakes that didn't use a cliche to build up tension. Remakes, rebootings, re-imaginings, re-imagings and so forth show that Hollywood has gotten lazy.

Well come on look at how many movies there are out there! You cannot expect people to not run out of ideas.

I have seen over 200 indie horror movies that had better ideas than half of the stuff Hollywood is dishing out on a daily basis.
