Day#1- The Signal (2007) IMBD link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0780607/
" If we change the way we look at things, the things we look at will change."
Since we're counting down to the End Of Days, I thought it was only right to start with a horror title that fit the bill. A lot of people seemed to over look this gem, which is written and directed by three people; David Bruckner, Jacob Gentry and Dan Bush.
The film starts off with a horrible, D rate horror movie scene. Don't turn it off! It's just the intro. The movie is interrupted by a psychedelic signal, which ends up altering humanities brain function and behavioural patterns. It seems to drive everyone mad, into paranoid killing machines.
Seems like your everyday, run-of-the-mill "everyone kills each other- the end" horror movie, but it's the division of three parts that truly give this movie it's edge. Because the film is divided into three very different perspectives we get to experience horror, intelligence and even humour whereas in other films, one or two elements would be left out. A music driven love story, a decapitated talking head and a horribly humerus character named Lewis are some of the main treats in this title.
Horrific, Hilarious and Humble, this movie may make you think twice about what's coming out of your T.V, Radio and Phone!
