Day # 3 - Switchblade Romance (Haute Tension) (2003) http://www.best-horror-movies.com/images...-small.jpg IMBD Link:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338095/
"I won't let anyone come between us any more"
First off, I would recommend this to any fan of foreign, gory and fantastic horror flicks. Secondly, It's an ending worth waiting for if subtitles aren't your thing.
This is a French flick that I saw a few weeks ago at a friends house, and decided to rent it myself and watch it today. I didn't catch a few important details through the first watch, and I am glad I watched it a second time. It was directed by Alexandre Aja (Hills have eyes, Piranha3D) who is known for his writing and directing in the genre. I enjoyed the film's gore, story line, and leading ladies.
It starts off simple enough, Alexia and Marie are visiting Alexia's parents home when a strange killer appears that change their lives forever. The whole concept seems spent, but it turned out to be really good. . This movie actually made me kind of squeamish, which doesn't happen often. There are a few scenes that made me curl my toes, look away and even drop my jaw. I will admit there is a tad bit more brutality than I normally like, but it works for this movie. It definitely has a different style to it, and I look forward to seeing what else this director/writer Alexandre will come up with.
Excellent acting, gore galore and thought provoking ending, I would definitely suggest this to any horror fan.
