Eaten Alive. Man, what a trippy film... IMO Tobe Hooper seems to have gotten worse as he got more experience. Eaten Alive (surprisingly!) had some nice atmosphere akin to his first work, the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, not to mention a fairly creepy villain and protagonists who are pretty unsettling in themselves; despite this however, the direction, acting and plotting were a pretty damn big step down. It definitely could have been better, though for its share of pros and gritty nature it's not something that would be easy to remake.
âThe Fright Night remake is a film which taps into the audienceâs deepest rooted fears, such as those of vampires throwing motorcycles at them. I dread the thought of a vampire throwing a refrigerator or a deskjet printer or... Iâd better stop before I give myself nightmaresâ
