Day #14 Wicker Tree (2010) IMDB Link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0323808/
"There is power, power, wonder working power in the blood of the lamb(8) "
Since it's may day I thought I'd celebrate with a bit of British cinema gold. This is the sequel to the 1973 film "The Wicker Man". **Not to be confused with the american remake of the wicker tree with the same title** It's written and directed by Robin Hardy, who was the director of Wicker Man. Personally, I really enjoyed it. It added to the original, instead of trying to out-do it. An all american Christian couple head out to the island of Scotland to quote "Bring some hearts to Jesus!", but the village people already have their beliefs. The couple are two country kids with a guitar, singing gospel songs and dismissing the islanders religion as fairy tales. These kids know nothing about paganism, or any type of primitive religions because all they know is their own. So they go on, "saving lives" when things start to get complicated. The two agree to be a part of their May Day festival as the May Queen and her Laddy. Little do they know the significance of their contribution. Just a wonderful film all around! What I liked most about it was that A) Christopher Lee was in it
B) Real breasts! C) It was really well done. The acting, directing, script and concept couldn't have been better.
