The hardcore lovers treat the love-triangle in the books as the coolest, most beautiful thing that could come about, and even the haters make up ridonkulous raves about how the series is the ultimate, lowest-common denominator bane of western civilization. Therefore, it would have been poetic, to me, if Seltzer and Freedburg (also a "serious business"/bane of western civilization thing for their haters) had been more successful in their film, ultimately making a completely un-serious, very down-to-earth spoof of the Twilight series; pointing out every dumb thing about it whilst never making their film a "criticism" in any way, as though it "had to be slain" as hardcore haters would claim.
âThe Fright Night remake is a film which taps into the audienceâs deepest rooted fears, such as those of vampires throwing motorcycles at them. I dread the thought of a vampire throwing a refrigerator or a deskjet printer or... Iâd better stop before I give myself nightmaresâ
