Do you think Rob Zombie's Halloween remakes are better than the originals?

I disliked them both. The backstory with the masks... I could see where Zombie was going with it, but like other people have said, unnecessary and counter-productive. The second film I have seen getting some praise elsewhere for how it was shot etc. To be honest I don't care. It still bored me to death. I at least need a film to entertain me on some level.

Both these films were just drawn-out and dull for me. I hope Zombie goes back to the form he was on previously. I loved his earlier work.

I have to admit that the mask backstory was somewhat original and although it didn't fit with Michael's personality (if he ever had one), I'll give to zombie for trying to do something different. I could see that happening in another slasher movie that Zombie could have directed. I agree that he should go back to making movies that he has a profound love for: exploitation.
