Do you think Rob Zombie's Halloween remakes are better than the originals?

I don't think I was pissed off about the direction so much as the characters. I hated Laurie, Loomis and young Michael. Three characters that are essentially the entire film and he had to make one a party-hard bitch, another an egotistical doctor, and a whiney brat who kills animals. Zombie is a great director, as evidenced through the Halloween films, but he shouldn't have been allowed to write them. His intentions were great but that kind of "white horse" mythological bullshit shouldn't be in a Halloween movie. If any supernatural element was allowed, it should be vague like the original. Gives it an ominous tone.

[COLOR="Red"]I agree with the supernatural elements being too over the top. I honestly think Zombie was so upset with studio interference on the first film that he just said fuck it with the second movie at times.

I agree with your assessments of Loomis and young Michael. But I don't think Laurie was strictly a party hard bitch. The theatrical cut of H2 makes it seem that way, but I found the additional footage in the Director's Cut to give her a little more development and show a more damaged side to her trying to break free from what happened.
