Not for me. I'd honestly say I thought Jason X was more of a Friday movie than FVJ just as Freddy's Dead was more of a Nightmare movie than FVJ. Sure FVJ was more down-to-Earth, but it lacked the soul of both series if you ask me; it had neither the creativity or relatability of "Nightmare" movies nor the suspense or palpable violence of "Friday" movies.
@ Chainsaw Brute and Creamy Goods - Good call. Even if Kane played Jason, the writers would still have room to muck things up. I personally think FVJ was flawed from the start, but there were ways of pulling it off a lot better than it truly was. As it stands, for all that the script was lacking in spirit they may as well have replaced Englund.
