God yes. British english IS a bit more different than people realize. Mostly slang of course, but there are some more general discrepancies. Chips or fries? Cookies or biscuits? Then there are the words we both use but have completely different meanings... Knocked up, Pissed, Fanny... etc etc etc. And don't even get me into pronunciation..... Aluminum anyone? <-- Also qualifies for spelling errors by dropping or adding useless letters.
Anyway, in my 6 months of living in England, and my years of chatting with British friends, I realized it's a cluster fuck! That's all I'm saying! Speaking English is not a guarantee that you speak the language. lol
