Caro I know why you're venting. Family can be a total pain at times. But you've made your point now it seems (if you told your mother she had all of July). Now I'd just do and say absolutely nothing more about it and carry on with your proposed plans... see if it happens again. If it does and you get further complaints you simply state that you laid your ground rules previously. If people don't wish to comply with them that's their problem.
