I've seen much of Argento's work, and really tried to like it. The truth is.....I don't. Susperia had it's moments, but for the most part, I find it boring. Now, I understand these films never had big Hollywood budgets and were geared for European audience where, IMO, expectations are lower. All that aside, and at the risk of appearing jaded, I believe his work is vastly overrated and a bit self indulgent.
For my money, Fulci is far more entertaining and watchable, even if only for his superior makeup and FX.
Even so, I respect Argento, but a Hitchcock he is not.
