Since my absence, the news of this remake has gone from mediocre (http://www.toplessrobot.com/2011/10/drug...remake.php), to actually pretty good (http://collider.com/diablo-cody-evil-dea...ew/127309/), to godawful.
This is the news that made me puke - http://www.moviehole.net/201150056-exclu...ead-remake. Ah, great, the intervention backstory wasn't enough! Let's throw the shit about the mom in for some poorly manufactured "sympathy!" Dollars to donuts, there's gonna be a scene where one of the Deadites tells the main girl "YOUR MOTHER SUCKS COCKS IN HELL!" or some reasonable poor ripoff thereof, and the girl clenches her teeth and goes "YOU........... CANNOT............. HURT............. ME." And of course, everyone else is "arrogant" or some other trait manufactured to be unsympathetic so we never really feel scared for THEM

Also, it's being produced by Ghost House, whose track record is... not good.
