Do you think Rob Zombie's Halloween remakes are better than the originals?

I remember seeing the first trailer a little while ago and while I did want to see the movie from the moment I heard about it, the first trailer didn't really get me excited about it.

I really enjoyed the first movie, I guess it's a matter of taste, but I do like Rob Zombie's work, I'm not a big fan of the "shiny" look newer horror movies have. Not sure how to explain it. Rob Zombie's movies have a more old school vibe to them. One thing I did really like about the first one was the kid who played young michael myers. The kid was good. Tyler Mane also has a lot of presence on film.

This trailer for h2 made me want to see it more, I'm actually excited to see it now. I'm looking forward to seeing Malcom McDowell again too, he's no Donald Pleasence, but I honestly could not think of any other actor to put in that role. I hadn't really liked McDowell in a movie since Clockwork Orange.

I don't look at Rob Zombie's movies as remakes, I'm not sure what I'd call them. They're by no mean better than the originals, but at the same time they're very different, I feel like I'm trying to compare apples and oranges.
