Mr. Briggs crawled on his belly like a corn snake, duffel bag tucked snug under his arm, pistol in an unzipped pocket, right side of the bag. Occasionally he heard screams, shots, but never any familiar voices... He hadn't been caught yet, but he hadn't done anything either... Shit, just as useless as on the outside. Still, it could come in handy to be unshaken once he met up with--
A sound, closer this time, accompanied by a voice stern... and mean. Briggs rolled over on his back and slowly inched his head up, hoping not to come face to face with the metaphorical "Yautja". The lunatic was on the grass, a menacing few feet away, with a very scared looking girl in front of him, sitting on the ground with her back turned to his uzi.
Tristan: What's your favorite scary movie?
Faith: I... I-- The Exorcist scared me--
Tristan: Churchmouse-pussy!!
A rain of bullets rang from the lunatic's uzi into the girl's back. ...But by that time Briggs had already continued his voyage into yet taller grass... With any luck-
Tristan: You chickenshit!!
No such luck for Briggs. Best defense now started with rising from the belly on to the butt... and into the barrel of the kid's gun.
Tristan: What's your favorite horror movie, fag??
Briggs: The Texas... Chainsaw... Massacre
Tristan: Which fucking version??
Briggs: Come on!!!
If he even needed to ask, and ask so belligerantly at that, then Briggs knew which version his opponent was talking about...
...But I had already decided on martyrdom
Briggs: ...The original
Tristan: WRONG!
But, by the time Tristan had even begun saying "wrong", Briggs had already spun around to the side of the lunatic and grabbed his gun, then in one swift motion, tore his own pistol out of the pocket and up to the lunatic's face!
Briggs: wroooong.
Briggs shot a smoking hole in the lunatic's neck, effortlessly pulling away the uzi as the other boy's hands curled impotently around his gurgling wound.
Briggs: What's your favorite horror movie? ...Resident Evil?
Briggs placed a contemptuous peck on the shocked killer's bloody lips before running to grab the poor martyr-girl's pickaxe and running deeper into the foliage, saying quiet prayers.
