Slashers have very simple story lines. I see what Rosemary is saying.

Btw, I love them all. Big Grin

I find myself going towards slashers more and more, but less "generic" slashers; ones that break up the "kill, talk, kill, talk, etc..." formula. Original Texas Chainsaw was very good, as was Maniac. As I've said before, Magic is my favorite film (Does that count or is that more "psychological horror"?).

Then, I think supernatural films either with elements of realism or those that bend realism come in second for me.

Behind that I like films with realistic and unique people going up against not-so realistic supernatural-stuff.

Downright horror comedy is next in line and beyond that I'd have to think a bit more...
“The Fright Night remake is a film which taps into the audience’s deepest rooted fears, such as those of vampires throwing motorcycles at them. I dread the thought of a vampire throwing a refrigerator or a deskjet printer or... I’d better stop before I give myself nightmares”

I love all different kinds of horror genres. But my favorite sub-genre would have to be zombie films. George A. Romero is the man.

Agreed! lol

I like lots of different horror genres but slashers would be my least favourite. Although I can think of a few films that might come under slashers that I really like Tongue

Well I'm damn glad to have some variety myself! And since I don't see a better place to say it yet, welcome to the boards Alter Ego!

Supernatural movies like Poltergeist. Nothing more scary than seeing shit move around and don't know what's causing it. Slashers are my second favorite.

I normally like zombie movies because there is so much to play with and most of them say so much about the culture and year/decade we live in. Not to mention the gore and the makeup.
