#1
Bloody Disgusting just got tipped off that a new Children of the Corn is also in the works. Entitled Children of the Corn: The Dweller, Joel Soisson is set to direct from his own screenplay. Shooting is scheduled to begin this September is Los Angeles. Soisson, who produced the 2001 Children of the Corn: Revelation, directed both Pulse and Prophecy sequels for Dimension Films. He wrote the screenplays for Dracula 2000, and all of the sequels, along with Hollow Man II, Hellraiser: Hellworld and many others. The plot begins on a trip to California, a family's car overheats leaving them stranded in the home of a creepy couple and their kid. Source: Bloody Disgusting

Hurmm... why is it a creepy couple with a kid instead of a creepy kid with a couple of dead bodies lying around? Doesn't exactly scream "Children of the Corn" to me Tongue

I guess they are using the title 'Children of the Corn' for marquee value.

Well admittedly, that irks me less than making a supposed remake that actually has nothing but said marquee value to do with the original film. It's still dumb as fuck though.

If they really gave a damn, they'd make their own idea original enough to be distinct from King's entire story, make it great, let it gain publicity for it's greatness, and let it make more money than a common DTV sequel ever would.

I got Children of the Corn parts 1,2,3 in a box set for 5 euro in the local supermarket. Only watched part 1. Didn't grab me for some reason.

Was it too dry or not enough going on. The short story is like that too. Us Stephen King fans eat it up but... newcomers to the film may find it a little campy, which it is.
