I didn't care for Suspiria. I may watch it again to give it another try. I was feeling kinda antsy that day. But you have me inspired Briggs to check out some of his other works. Creepers sounds kinda fun, any review on that?

Kinda curious to see how he remakes Suspiria.

To you and to Bo, I loved Suspiria, but I guess it IS horror for certain tastes... I think it is remake-able, but like I said with the Evil Dead remake, the director would have to be hyper-competent. Keep the general gist, DEFINITELY keep the direction as close to Argento as humanly possible, add more backstory and amp up the potential for arthouse-gore.

Creepers was heavy on the magical-realism, even moreso than outright horror. There were a selection of moments that made it into a clear horror film but don't go in expecting to be scared all the way through.

Yes, we all have our horror flavors. I agree with you that the director must stay true to Argento's story & working closely with him. Pulling off the arthouse-gore may be tough because that is Argento notoriety.

Magical-realism is totally up my alley, I do venture outside of horror *gasps* Man, as a kid the stuff that influenced me in that regard: The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, The Never Ending Story, Lewis Caroll, HR Giger. I did a paper on Lewis Caroll and was just so fascinated by him. I tend to bend more on the psychological/surrealism side with my studies in school though. Creepers is definitely in my queue.

I am very familiar with his work and I find his direction very unique. I think Suspira is one of the most overrated horror movies ever but still a visually beautiful film. I enjoyed Phenomena but I would say that Opera is my favorite. Don't know why.

Of course, I'm going to snag it and check it out either way as soon as I can. Now, on with my question. When I was little I remember there was this video store around here that didn't have much of a new selection, they just mostly carried older stuff which was fine with me because I'd always rent horror movies. I remember renting a movie from there and there was a scene of a girl with dark hair sitting in the back of a car or something and a bee lands on her hand and she began petting it. Does this sound like anything from Phenomena?

I just finished watching 'Trauma'. Have to say I enjoyed it. Great idea behind the killings and a fantastic murder weapon! Asia Argento is stunning to watch, cant say much for her weedy boyfriend, man that guy is the weakest leading man I've ever seen in a film!

The closing credits were the camera moves til we see a reggae band playing and a anorexic girl dancing on a balcony was very touching for some reason... Only after when I googled did I find out it was actually Asia's half sister who died soon after the making of the film...
