They should just call it Evil Dead 3 and go for a sequel rather than a remake.

*nods* That's how I feel about the upcoming Crow remake as well. Just make another awful sequel. Why defile the original?

Why defile the original when they can just defile the franchise. As long as the original remains untouched, I'm fine with that.

I agree with the previous statements - we already have a remake in Evil Dead II. Make another bloody film for heaven's sake... Gunfighter This idea is getting flogged like a dead horse.

I heard that the cabin in the woods that Justin Long's character in Drag Me To Hell was talking about is the cabin that the remake or sequel would take place.

Ugh. I pretty much think the whole Evil Dead buzz is done and over with. If Bruce Campbell was returning to the role and Sam Raimi was in the director's chair, then it'd be a different story. I don't think a remake will do well financially though and I don't think anyone is a fan of Diablo Cody writing the screenplay.

I had absolutely now idea that both Raimi and Campbell wouldn't be attached to it (at least not in the areas they count) and if Cody is writing the screenplay, I don't think she has a firm sense of what made the original and its "sequel" so popular. This film NEEDS Raimi's direction at the very least.

Raimi and Campbell are just producers at this point, right?

I figured as much. Hopefully Raimi will stretch out his "producer's control" on this one.

I would have to agree with Chris. And to add on, Army of Darkness was just horrible.

I don't think this would do good in the Box Office no matter who was in it or directed it. It's a CULT classic for a reason. Besides the hardcore Evil Dead fans, who would go see it?

I dont think it would work UNLESS Sam Raimi did it and only if they can find someone to play Ash with as much personaliity as Bruce Campbell

Whoever that will be would have a lot on his shoulder. Horror fans are the most fickle and judgmental of cinema lovers.

People who hate Army of Darkness hate fun. I'm just sayin'...

And I agree, Freddy and Mytee. Trying to replace Bruce Campbell is just too much responsibility for one man. Wink
