One of my favorite films from the last 5 years. I thought it was brilliant, and very underrated.

âThe Fright Night remake is a film which taps into the audienceâs deepest rooted fears, such as those of vampires throwing motorcycles at them. I dread the thought of a vampire throwing a refrigerator or a deskjet printer or... Iâd better stop before I give myself nightmaresâ

I think a lot of it has to do with my fascination for the disturbing things we human beings are capable of when times get rough. The people inside of that supermarket, their interactions and their eventual split into warring factions, I found much more terrifying than the monsters in THE MIST.
I don't know. It's just this weird fascination I have. I tend to write about it a lot too (case in point, my next novel ANIMOSITY has a lot of similar themes in it: a horror writer finds the body of a murdered child not far from his home . . . you can imagine how bad things get for him when the "normal people" draw misguided connections between this and the kind of stuff he writes for a living ![]() J.N. |
