ALICE! Big things going for her:
1) ...She's the only protagonist to survive 2 films
2) She IS the master of dreams, gets work-credit!
3) Her character is awesome; not only in general but for the fact that she may have had the most clearly done character arc of the series! Nancy had to get stronger, everyone else pretty much stayed the same... In part 4 Alice pretty much turned a total 180 from where she started out! Not only that but we see her get kicked down some big notches in 5, seeing her boyfriend die, her unborn child put in danger... then she basically gets over that, gets right back up and kicks Fred's ass again! o.O
âThe Fright Night remake is a film which taps into the audienceâs deepest rooted fears, such as those of vampires throwing motorcycles at them. I dread the thought of a vampire throwing a refrigerator or a deskjet printer or... Iâd better stop before I give myself nightmaresâ

Nancy all the way. She was a very strong lead actress on par with Ripley from Alien.

Would have to be Nancy.... That bath scene is pretty iconic in Horror history. (I pick this scene purely for artistic and not pervy reasons... I swear...

Perhaps. Although the special effects add to the surreal games that Freddy plays with his victims. If anything, maybe the ending and the melting stairwell could be used elsewhere but they are perfect where they are.
