I've been waiting for this to come out for awhile but after seening multiple tv spots and trailers and 2 different pictures of freddys new face and all I can say is I'm pretty dissapointed. He dsnt look intimidating at all anymore and the telling his back story dsnt look that great at all. I was having high hopes for this movie. Any opinions?

I know what you mean. I cant believe this was made to begin with. I mean its just hard to grasp someone else playing Freddy for one and 2, do we really need Nightmare on Elm Street remade? The original was great! And i can admit i am hard on remakes, especially certain ones. But sometimes i cant help but think someone else is just trying to cash in on something that was and still is an awesome movie. Cant people these days come up with an original idea? In my opinion there is just way to many damn remakes lately and to damn much 3D going around. Not saying its totally wrong or bad, BUT when things like this happen at this rate, it gets damn old fast. But thats just me and how i feel about it.

Oh trust me i saw it coming, i was being kinda sarcastic when i said i couldnt belive they would do this. But yeah of course they are trying to cash in on it. But the thing is, were all guilty of feeding their pockets! LOL Maybe it will surprise us and it will be good...lol

How many threads to have about the Nightmare on Elm Street remake? Or am I just seeing double?

Can't wait to see this movie hope its good and at least Rob Zombie didn't remake it
Now, remember: you don't aim a gun at a man unless you intend to shoot him. And, you don't shoot a man unless you intend to kill him. No warning shots. Hey, you listening to me? No warning shots. Warning shots are bullshit. You shoot to kill, or you don't shoot at all.

There's 8 different tv spots and yet they all seem to kind of look the same. Where's the new clips or images? Damn you new line.

I got to see it last night. I liked it, but I seem to be in the minority of critics. Nice update. Good characters. I thought Haley did a good job as Freddy. Leaned a lot on jumpscares thought.

Yeah, it definitely falls into the category of "horror movies that tells a story well but isn't scary." I think it's turning into it's own subgenre.
And something else we were wondering last night - does anyone know about how much screen time Freddy got in the original? Didn't seem like a whole lot in this one.

I'd say he's in the original one maybe for abt 20 minutes maybe a little more.
