In Greenvilie, Miss.,Washington County citizens will asked on Nov. 2 to approve a Two % tax on motels and motels to support construction of a multiple purpose sports complex.

The sportsplex would be found on 95 acres next to the Washington County Convention Center.

Judiciary authorized the tax this year. Managers this week approved levying the tax outstanding citizen approval.

Gwin Koestler of the Delta Sportsplex Foundation tells the Delta Left winger Times that the project is expected to cost $20 million.

The sportsplex will incorporate 3 baseball complexes of 5 fields each while employing Legion Field and the four existing baseball stadiums currently located at the site.

Each complicated will have a concession pavilion and toilet facilities.

So basically, this is paving the way for any city to tax motels who then have to charge more to travelers and business men.

They need to find how to get their sporting venues, in other ways then placing it on motel owners backs. Or any niche business or industry.
