Reminds me of The Strangers, and I do love the masks, the sets, and the bits and from the few stills I can find, the camera-angles. However, the talk of it being "action/comedy" kills my anticipation a little. Unlike the guy who wrote the article, I have seen a lot of action in recent horror films, and too much comedy (although that seems to have stagnated a bit recently).
The stills I've seen around the web look brutal. I do wonder how the comedy will be integrated.
