Saw this on Scariest Places on Earth. Quick history:
"In 1600, the Covenanters were a political force in Scotland whose main purpose was to keep Scotland a Presbyterian nation. With the arrival of King Charles II, the Covenanter movement was defeated and hundreds of Covenanters were imprisoned. The Covenanters' Prison and Greyfriar's Kirk Cemetery are now home to the restless and wronged spirits of beheaded and tortured Scotsmen."
The e-how site goes on to tell you to book a tour & be prepared for a physical attack. Many people come out with scratches, bruises & red-marks. Last I heard, they were no longer allowing after dark tours because too many people were being injured. The Black tomb & Mackenzie Mausoleum are supposed to be the worst.
"MacKenzie was the Covenanters' prison judge and sentenced many souls to terrible deaths." Brilliant to bury him with the people he judged & had executed.
During heavy rains, bones will rise to the surface.
Regardless, if you ever get to Scotland, definitely worth checking out.
