The Central Valley Horror Club is proud to be the creators of Central California's first-ever zombie-themed event, the Visalia Zombie Ball & Crawl, as well as Visalia's first vampire-themed event, the Visalia Vampire Ball, and the Visalia Monster Mash. The primary goals of Central Valley Horror Club are to not only unite existing fans of the horror genre, but to also reach out to new ones while providing unique, affordable and all-ages entertainment to the entire Central Valley.

One of the most successful (and terrifying) franchises in film history is ready for its weekly television debut. For over 25 years, fans have followed the exploits of an insidious villain named Pinhead, summoned from a nightmarish underworld by an ancient puzzle box. He will seduce you with power and tempt you with fear, until your soul belongs to him. Now, for the first time, a weekly series set in the fantastic realm of Hellraiser will thrill audiences worldwide.

I know this is a bit late but I just want to hear your comments about the finale of WALKING DEAD SEASON 2

Well this is mine:

Episode two of the new season ends with a very ordinary scene: Multiple insane zombie hands sticking through a door, much like season one’s hospital cafeteria shot. It’s too early to begin pulling repeats with just a total of eight episodes in the can. Fortunately, the zombie scenes are still the highlight of the show and do not make me sleep and snore, for now.

On the other hand, I reckon drama is still not this program’s strong point, with the survivors stumbling along their way especially with regard to the dialogue and their drive, they never hook me up. There’s a series of long, on the nose, almost reality TV-like confessional scenes when the group discovers an old church near the end of the extra-long season opener that slows down the shaking, rattling and rolling momentum of the episode after that thrilling beginning.

There’s nothing wrong with a good TV monologue IF AND ONLY IF it is done well, and these show comparisons to a similar scene...minus zombies, of course! ,' in The West Wing, as both have the principal characters railing against the imbalances of the world to God. But the lines in The Walking Dead are so boring... Forgive me Mr. Scripwriter....

Things nearly fall on the edge in the second episode after a unexpected ending that has Grimes torn between his wife and his son. It’s a funny contrived problem that is easily solved, but it gets milked for way too long here. It does, however, put them in a position that the comic was in, so it seems they won’t be forgetting what the comic set out entirely. H.

Ultimately, the show seems to have struck an acceptable balance between zombies and drama. The only problem is the content of the drama parts that continue to lag in quality. So if you can stand some of the more overwrought scenes that makes the actors over acting, The Walking Dead is still a nice, pulpy zombie thriller for me.uicide:

My all time fave horror novel has got to The Rats by James Herbert. I first read it back in 1975, and thought it was just awesome!

His second novel, THE FOG, also had a great impact on me in terms of its sheer horror and thrills. And who could forget that horrific shears scene in the school gym!

Any other Herbert fans here?

What Happened In MayviIIe? (a sequel to last year's What Happened in Mayville?) is a play by Christina Joy Howard and Adam Chambers, and performed by the LOFT Ensemble of Los Angeles. It is a cleverly written and superbly executed horror play carefully couched in an interesting character drama. The show opens with the young and pretty Emily working the registration desk of the town's hotel, when in stumbles a half-drunk love-sick swain, Tyler who passionately and ridiculously tries to woo a guarded and hesitant Emily. They're interaction is so funny and awkwardly romantic that you're easily lulled into forgetting that you came to see horror. Though the comfort of this does not last long. Strange, disturbing, and down-right disgusting things begin to happen in the hotel and to it's patrons, and though Tyler's comedic relief is both well timed and well played, it's not enough to stop some of the scenes from being perfectly terrifying. Which is, of course, exactly what you payed for.

This is the first horror play—let alone ZOMBIE play—that I have had the privilege to see, and if this is any indication of the art form, I have to say I am now a huge fan. I was extremely surprised by what they were able to pull off in live theatre with nothing more than make-up, lighting, a contortionist or two, and some extremely excellent acting.

If anyone is going to be in the Los Angeles area in the next month or so, I highly recommend attending:
