Horror fans around the world can finally rejoice in the fact that the long-awaited sequel to Bryan Bertino‘s 2008 home-invasion horror film, The Strangers, is finally happening.
This is something that’s been discussed many times on our message boards, and I’ve discussed many times over various chat clients through-out the years, as I’ve anticipated this film for quite some time.
Now, it looks like the film has finally made it out of production hell, and will begin filming May 30th.
Who’s Been Cast For The Strangers 2?
With filming set to begin in less than a month, we’ve already gotten word as to some of the people who will appear in the film.
Christina Hendrics from the hit TV show, Mad Men will appear in the film. She also appeared in flicks like Drive, and The Neon Demon.
Bailee Madison who starred in the Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark remake.
Lewis Pullman, who starred in Aftermath.
Johannes Roberts will direct the film, which was penned by Bertino and Ben Ketai. He’s directed films like 47 Meters Down, The Other Side Of The Door and Storage 24.
‘The Strangers 2’ is a thrilling sequel that lives up to the hype of the original film. After financial troubles force them to move out of their house, a family of four try to make it through the night in a deserted trailer park while being hunted by the savage, ax-wielding, mask-wearing trio wrecking havoc once again.
That was the official summary released by Relativity Media, but I’m hearing conflicting reports. Some have said that the family is on a road trip and end up at a trailer park, opting to spend the night once the power goes out.
I’m hoping that’s not true, as the summary released by Relativity Media sounds a bit less typical, and more true to what fans have been hearing since the concept for a sequel was ever released. We all know the film has been stuck in production hell for damn near a decade now, so the less they change, the better, in my opinion.
