Stephen King's "IT" Remake!!!! - showmenzunrest - 06-04-2010

Don't I wish!!!

Though this is just my idea....I would say that Rob Zombie would be the best choice to direct....Just my idea again and I'm sure it won't ever happen!!

Finger'z Crossed....

Stephen King's "IT" Remake!!!! - Dr. Briggs - 06-04-2010

Why so? I like Zombie more than some horror fans, but I doubt he'd do justice to a King story!

Stephen King's "IT" Remake!!!! - Trioxin149 - 06-05-2010

IT has too much of a deep storyline for Zombie.

Stephen King's "IT" Remake!!!! - FreddysFingers - 06-05-2010

Zombie would make the kids grow up in 1980s backwater Texas and be white trash. Pennywise would be some kind of child rapist and wife beater who died while trying to fix his tractor some shit like that.

Stephen King's "IT" Remake!!!! - mrblue - 06-05-2010

I thought there was already a remake being made..

Stephen King's "IT" Remake!!!! - Trioxin149 - 06-05-2010

There is but I don't think there is a solid attachment with any director as of yet. I've heard a few names but I don't think anyone is a shoe in. If I had to pick someone, I would go with either Marcus Nispel or Frank Darabont as he's so familiar with King's work and never seems to fuck up. Or maybe even an up and comer. If he fucks it up, most people won't be surprised, but if he does well, we'll have a new director to keep track of. But with a solid screenplay, a solid director won't matter at all. So who knows.

Stephen King's "IT" Remake!!!! - Dr. Briggs - 06-05-2010

Nispel would make the kids teenagers throughout the entire movie and have them be mostly generic with a few halfhearted attempts at character development via tired tropes. Pennywise would be the latest in a family line of survivalists who dresses like a clown for inconsequential and unnecessary reasons and calls himself immortal Tongue .

Darabont would be pretty good though I think :3 .

Not sure who the directors you guys speak of really, but guess ya got a point bout Rob Zombie's vision would be typical although I admire and like his work so far...I heard nothing of a rumored remake of "IT" til now but again would not be suprised with all the string of remakes out there in the past years and the future...

Glad there's no offense taken. I actually like Zombie though I can't help but agree with FreddysFingers's vision of how Zombie's "It" would be XD.

On the other directors; Nispel directed the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th remakes and Darabont directed The Mist and other non-horror Stephen King adaptations (Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption).

I thought we were talking directing only? :orangeguy: Not a Marcus Nispel/Michael Bay combination, in which case your right. Teens galore.

Dude Rob Zombie sucks he screws up every movie he does besides the devils rejects I hate him for screwing up the Halloween movies my god he has to be the worst movie maker I have ever saw so I pray that he doen't screw any other movies up that I like

Stephen King's "IT" Remake!!!! - Bojangles - 06-06-2010

Darabont would most likely be the prime choice. I highly doubt they would ever let Rob Zombie touch anything else that has potential. He's more suited for SyFy original movies. Actually, now that I think about it; maybe not. Those require a certain degree of dialogue that would just be out of Rob Zombie's league. I don't know what he'd do if he wasn't allowed to use cuss words.

Stephen King's "IT" Remake!!!! - Trioxin149 - 06-07-2010

Yeah instead of it being movies like Boa vs Python it would be:

Rob Zombie Presents: Hillbilly vs Redneck!!!

But it looks like they are aiming for an R rating this go around, good or bad? Dunno. And it's currently being written by Dave Kajganich who wrote The Invasion and is also rumored to be writing the remake for Pet Sematary as well. Not sure who is directing IT yet.

Stephen King's "IT" Remake!!!! - Bojangles - 06-07-2010

They just had a Pet Sematary marathon a couple days ago. However, I can't remember which channel it was on. They showed the original, followed by Part Two.

Stephen King's "IT" Remake!!!! - showmenzunrest - 06-07-2010

It was on SyFy actually lol I saw it....Holy Rob Zombie Bash! You all have good points tho, yet I enjoy his style of blood-gore and cuss wordzSmile

Cant agree on the new direction of the recent remakes of Friday and TCM...well TCM wasent bad...but these days it seems bubble gum-gore? ha! ?

Stephen King's "IT" Remake!!!! - FreddysFingers - 06-08-2010

Darabont would get my vote.

Stephen King's "IT" Remake!!!! - Trioxin149 - 06-08-2010

I dug TCM alot and I agree on Friday the 13th, it was typical. It was about on the same level as A Nightmare on Elm Street for me, but I've seen way worse, especially when it comes to remakes. And Pet Sematary 2 was badass. Clancy Brown FTW!

You DO have a point, Trioxin, and on that note I take back somewhat of what I said. Nispel gave us a handful of great scenes in TCM '03 and a fairly suspenseful Friday the 13th remake. Still, from those two alone Nispel gives the impression of a more "active" director than IT would warrant; not enough slow, quiet atmosphere.

Also, say what you will about Zombie, he kicks 90% of SciFi originals and 99.99% of Asylum originals to the curb Tongue.

And on a final note I agree about Pet Sematary AND Pet Sematary 2... ...I can't fucking understand what so many people say is so bad about part 2!

Stephen King's "IT" Remake!!!! - Bojangles - 06-09-2010

Nispel is bad ass, in my opinion. So far, I've loved both of his remakes. I enjoyed both Pet Sematary and Pet Sematary 2.
