The fans screamed. The bids kept soaring. And by the time it was over, a bidder in Hong Kong had purchased a single glove worn by Michael Jackson for $350,000 -- $420,000 once fees are worked in.
But this wasn't just any glove.
It was the glove Jackson wore on the 1983 25th anniversary Motown special -- when he premiered his "moonwalk" dance.
The winning bidder was Hoffman Ma, who purchased the sequined glove on behalf of the Ponte 16 Resort Hotel in Macau. His bill is several times the $70,800 a Jackson glove worn during the 1984 "Victory" tour fetched only last month.
If I had known pieces of Jackson would become so valuable, maybe I would have kept the Jewish prayer book he read when I had the chance to go to temple with him in 1999. For the record, the consensus was that Jackson would have made a great Jew. As the rabbi noted, he loved bagels. (Hollyweird)
