So, I need some opinions. Also, there's a new section - "Official TalkHorror"

Lilith made a suggestion that was have a "Quickie Reviews" section, so I added that forum into the Official TalkHorror category. Today, I'll be moving all of the current reviews to their appropriate sections. From now on, our nice little staff of official reviewers will have their own forums.

Now, I'm also thinking about expanding and getting rid of some forums.

Possibly Getting Rid Of:

Love It or Hate It - Not much use for this anymore. People whom are not official talkhorror reviewers can post their reviews in one of the other sections.

If you know of any others I should get rid of, please just leave me a suggestion.

Possibly Expanding:

Other Forms of Entertainment - I think some of the sections in this forum deserve their own forum.

Such as:

Non-Horror Films
Video Games
Sports
Music

However, I want to make sure that these forums would get enough attention before I officially give them their own place. How well do you think these additional forums would do?

Also, I don't want to have a TON of forums. So, if you can think of any forums I need to get rid of, or I could possibly combine with other forums, just let me know. This mostly pertains to those least-popular forums.

I understand the loss of "love it or hate it" since reviews are generally going into the other general discussion boards anyhow...

And, it may just be my personal preference but I'm not a big fan of having more than 1 off-topic forum for any board dedicated to a topic. I'm on other horror boards and not to diss 'em, but with too many forums for general talk, movie-discussion tends to go *PHOONK* for long periods of time XP

Don't know about splitting OFoE into more forums. As it is it encompasses a great number of topics but is still only three pages deep. Splitting them may make them seem less trafficked and possibly discourage activity.

I wonder if there aren't too many horror categories. Films could easily overlap and be discussed in multiple forums and kinda dilute the conversation. Whadayathink?

I think ditching love it or hate is a good idea and maybe combining all the paranormal/ghost forums together would be a good idea.

OK, so when someone asks for an opinion i usually try to give one. LOL So here we go.........

I agree, i think it would be a good idea to shrink down
the paranormal section. Call it something like The
Paranormal and Urban Legend section. That would pretty
much sum up all categories into one.

I think we should keep No Holds Barred, there should be
a place like that to contain the explicit drama and keep
it off the respectable forums.

Also think Spammity Spam Spam is a keeper. There should
be a place to put all things considered spam in. That
would also keep clutter down to a minimum.


Love It or Hate It, i agree with letting go, since reviewers
have a designated area now.

Things That Could Be Combined:

Horror Media & Bloody Fans based on their descriptions could
be combined if kept and called something else or just Horror
Media.

Horror Video Games could be combined with Video Games if that
section is made in the near future.

DVD Features could also be considered Horror Media and become a
part of that section as well.

Horror Imports could be combined with Independant & Obscure Horror


Things Up For Debate:

Stand Alone Horror and Francise Horror, posts for those topics i
noticed seemed to be mainly posted in the forum All Things Horror.
So either could do away with those 2 forums or keep them for an
easier find of a specific topic. But it just dont seem those 2 forums
are getting alot of attention based on Thread and Post count.


Comedic Horror is a good idea as far as keeping all those movies in one
spot and easy to find movies to suit peoples tastes looking for movies like
that. But its also another forum not doing so hot according to thread and post
count.

"Based On" is probably the loneliest forum based on its thread and post count activity.
Although i do see a purpose for a forum like this on the board. Maybe combine it with
something else to make it more trafficed.


Battle Grounds is more of personal preference...either keep as is or allow for
polls to be posted in any section at any time. I think it comes down to whether
or not you want to contain those poll discussions in one place or have them spread
about the forums. Or keep it to polls only any time any where and no discussions.
But there should be Polls on the board in some fashion, with or without discussion.

Horror On Your Television id say is up for debate to. Even tho i think its a good
idea to have a section for Television entertainment.

Other Forms of Entertainment i agree could be expandable for music, sports etc. Maybe
combine that with Horror on Your Television and add a spot for it in Other Forms Of
Entertainment.

LOL FreddysFingers, i like to write. And ive always been the type that if someone asks for opinions i try to give an in depth one if i possibly can. I wasnt trying to make anyone look bad for not posting much. That was not my intentions at all. So i apologize if it seemed like that.

I think we should keep that for when other people who aren't official Reviewers want to write or talk about whether they like a certain horror movie, game, memorabilia or anything else...

I mean it would be best if the OFFICIAL Reviewers had their own Review Section...
And give the normal people "Love It Or Hate It". just saying...

Ok... I've done a bit of combining and moving stuff around. I hope I don't frustrate anyone, lol. However, now we know which forums are going to work and which just may need a little help. Anyone else have any ideas of combination forums, or for deletion? All Things Horror could cover a shitload of topics, so think about that. I think the expansion forums in the horror sections definitely need some help. There's a good bit of those that just aren't getting much activity.

Examples:

Based On ... - This forum is just doing pathetic. Why? I don't know, but it is.

Comedic Horror - Doing a bit better than based on, but still not very good.

Hell, I think maybe we need to do something with all of the horror expansion forums. I'm not sure, what do you all thin? I mean, if we were a more popular message board, do you think these sections would do any better?

Sad to see the text/video games had to be combined, though since they weren't getting as much traffic I guess it makes sense... should be called "horror on other mediums" since the forum's predominantly movies-related though
