Rosemary's BabyTell me ALL about yourself.
#21
* I'm 36 years old. My body feels 50, but my mind feels somewhere around 20.

* My birthday is 9/11. Sad

* I'm married to Glenda. We have a 10-year-old son, Jamie, and another boy due in February!

* I can't stand the taste of beer. Love whiskey, though. My favorite drink is Diet Dr. Pepper & Jack Daniels.

* I can't blow a bubble with gum. Never have been able to, for some reason.

* I'm a huge Batman fan, but I like to pretend that Robin doesn't "exist" in my Dark Knight's world.

* I'm a Christian, but a very liberal one. I hate closed-minded, bigoted asshole "Christians" just as much as you do. Really. That's *not* me, or what Christianity is supposed to stand for.

* I'm a published writer, but don't make nearly enough $$$ at it yet to quit my full-time job. Hell, I don't know if I would want to anyway, as I'm a family man who needs those benefits. By day, I'm a Production Planner for a big printing company -- I've been involved in manufacturing the o-cards (the paperboard sleeves that DVD cases slide into) for some really cool movies lately: MARTYRS, TEETH, CORALINE, new editions of HELLRAISER and ARMY OF DARKNESS, INGLORIOUS BASTERDS, the BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM video game.

* My favorite non-horror movies are LEON (THE PROFESSIONAL), HEAT, PULP FICTION, KILL BILL, STAND BY ME, OLD SCHOOL, and MEET THE PARENTS.

* Despite my favorite genre of music being hard rock and metal of the 70's/80's, I love a lot of stuff that would probably kill any "metal cred" I've built up: Linkin Park, Godhead, Stabbing Westward, Nine Inch Nails, As I Lay Dying, 30 Seconds To Mars, some Korn . . . not to mention some rap, when I'm in the mood: Eminem, D12, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Snoop, Lil' Wayne.

* I'm also a sucker for 80's pop: Duran Duran, Pat Benatar, etc.

* My favorite writer of all time: a tie between Joe R. Lansdale and Ed Gorman. Used to be King, but he's lost me the last 10 years or so (though I do still read everything he does, eventually).

* One of my favorite writers of all time mentioned above, Ed Gorman, wrote the Foreword to the limited edition of my first novel. I can't begin to tell you how cool that was. And in July '08, I was on several panels with Joe Lansdale as a fellow Guest at a sci-fi/fantasy/horror convention in Nashville, TN. Can't believe I made it through that weekend without shouting "I'm not worthy!"

* I fucking despise 99.999999999% of all country music. Nah, might as well just make that 100%.

* I love da blues.

* I hate rednecks.

* Can't stand most death metal. There are very, very rare exceptions, but they're so rare I can't even think of any right now.

* I hate the SAW series (after the first one). Also hate the FINAL DESTINATION series. And anything to do with TWILIGHT. Don't get me started.

* I can do without just about any slasher movie these days. Don't hate 'em, I guess, but I won't go out of my way to see them.

* I'm so utterly sick of zombie movies and books. I wish this subgenre would die (no pun intended) for a while.

* In addition to being a writer, I've also dabbled in original music/sound-FX for audiobooks of my own and for other writers.

* I hate sports. Hate 'em. With one glaring exception: I'm a fanatic for NCAA basketball (go Tarheels!!!).

* Boobs rock.

But enough about me! Who cares, right?

* Congratulations, you share a birthday with the 60s Opera Ghost and one of the experts on South African film! ^_^

* Or Glen?

* I just like Dr. Pepper Tongue

* Don't worry, Loki is liberal on faith himself, he won't get on you for it Tongue

* ...Keep us posted on that >.>

* WELL POOR CHOP TOP

* I like the series, neutral on FD, and don't care for Twilight due to lack of frightening elements

* You mean modern slasher films produced these days or slasher films in general?

* Now THAT, Loki's gonna get on you about

* Ditto! My exception is dodgeball though X)

* Legs rock harder

* As long as you keep generating activity, I do >.<
“The Fright Night remake is a film which taps into the audience’s deepest rooted fears, such as those of vampires throwing motorcycles at them. I dread the thought of a vampire throwing a refrigerator or a deskjet printer or... I’d better stop before I give myself nightmares”

As well as Troma hottie Tiffany Shepis.

Pretty much all. More-so in regards to the new batch, though. Don't get me wrong -- the FRIDAY THE 13th, NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, and HALLOWEEN films were all a big part of my teenage years, but I just can't seem to care about them these days. I have a few on DVD, the originals of course as well as 1 or 2 of the sequels (actually, I think I have all of the NIGHTMARE movies), but I don't think I've watched 'em even once since I bought 'em.
