Yesterday I watched the interview with him that apparently people weren't meant to see. A couple of years ago, he did an interview with a british journalist, i forget his name, the guy completely trashed him and made him look awful, thing is MJ also had a camera filming the interview, he released the footage later on. There was links to the 5 part video off of a website I was looking at.
He addressed covering up his children in the video. Apparently it was his ex wife's idea, and I totally understand it now. He received a lot of threats, people who said they'd take his children, he was terrified his children would be kidnapped, that's why he was covering their faces. If possible kidnappers do not know what the children look like, it makes it much harder to kidnap them.
He talked a lot about why he built neverland, how when he was a child and he'd be recording for motown, there was a ball park across the street and he always wished he could go play with the other kids instead of working. He built neverland to appeal to the child inside of him, to be surrounded with all the things he missed as a child. He also talked about why he loves children so much. He talked about how he was betrayed so many times by adults and how children don't judge you.
You see the journalist tell him how amazing it is that he has all those children coming to neverland and how kind it is of him, then apparently the journalist went on tv and said neverland was dangerous.
There's another part of the interview where he says that he makes sure to tell his children that he loves them every single day.
I think all this is what he should be remembered for, beyond the music and the pop icon persona.

"Out there in the darkness, they're coming after me. A thousand stalking zombies, they want my brains to feed."
