I'm stuck in the projection booth of the theater where our website is hosting it's Oscar watching party. Is anyone else watching? I hear they are doing a tribute to horror movies... or maybe I just heard it wrong.

That was the worst horror tribute. This year of oscars keeps pissing me off. When they had the tribute to dead movie producers/directors/actors they had michael jackson in it. Come fucking on this isn't the grammy awards jus cuz he was king of pop dsnt mean he needs a fucking memorial video on every award show.

That tribute just made me want to curbstomp whoever's idea it was to have those Twilight fucks introduce a tribute to horror movies. How about Roger Fucking Corman since he was already on the front row? Couldn't Tobe Hooper be bothered? Or John Carpenter? I'm sure Robert englund could take some time out to make a quick introduction.
GAH!!!

Kinda pissed that QT and Inglourious Basterds didn't get anything writing or directing award. I am happy to see that Hurt Locker beat out Avatar. James is probably so pissed that his ex-won and not him.
And Bigelow is hot!!!!

I think QT needs to have someone to sit over his shoulder and tell him, "Dude, you need to lose about 15 pages of dialogue here" and for him to listen. Ever since I saw Deathproof, it's seemed to me that he's just a little too in love with his own words.
Just sayin'.

I humbly disagree.
Deathproof wasn't as good as Inglourious Basterds. The movie really held my attention although I think in order to really sit through his movies, you have to be a huge QT fan. The dialogue comes with the territory.

Generally, I love his work, but the first hour of Deathproof was almost unwatchable to me. It felt like he put a bunch of dialogue in there for the sake of "Ooh, look. I'm Quentin Tarantino and my dialogue is SOOO clever." It felt like Royale with Cheese all over again. :khead:
Now, I haven't seen IB myself so I can't speak on it personally, but I've heard more than a few people say he probably could've knocked about 15 minutes in dialogue off.

I agree with you on Deathproof. However, with Basterds... the dialogue is very key because it helps you get into the mind of the characters. Give it a shot. :biggrinjester::pinheady:

I didn't like deathproof. And james cameron shld be ashamed of himself his avatar movie with costed hundreds of million dollars to make and it got beat by an indie film. That proves that its not all abt the effects and 3D that's a movie good. In my opinion avatar sucked the story line was so predictable.
