A New Zealand woman sold two vials that she said contained the ghosts of an old man and a young girl for almost NZ$2,000 ($1,410) after a fiercely contested online auction, local media reported.
Avie Woodbury from Christchurch told TVNZ that she captured the spirits after an exorcism session of her house and for which she paid roughly $100.
Woodbury then put the ghosts into holy water and stored them in separate vials before deciding to auction them.
The web page for the sale attracted more than 200,000 views before the auction ended on Monday after a week. Woodbury said all proceeds from the auction, minus the exorcist's fee, would be donated to an animal charity.
"I would get things like the jug boiling itself, touching on the back of my neck, voices from other rooms, and items going missing then turning up in weird places," she said.
"I just want to get rid of them as they scare me. But someone might like these to play with," she said.
Woodbury said she felt a better vibe in her house after the exorcism. "Whether it is psychological or not but I definitely felt a new vibe in the house," she told TVNZ.
The winning bidder was an electronic cigarette company, which local newspapers said was now asking for ideas on what to do with the vials.
(US$1 = 1.418 NZ$)

You gotta be kidding right? It is a quick way to make a buck. Just go on ebay, claim something is haunted and POOF, the moola rolls in! Not that i dont believe in exorcisms etc, because i do. But to make money off it like that? That i dont really think is right.

If there are real ghosts in there, then we're going to have some sci-fi shit going on with that cigarette company >.>
âThe Fright Night remake is a film which taps into the audienceâs deepest rooted fears, such as those of vampires throwing motorcycles at them. I dread the thought of a vampire throwing a refrigerator or a deskjet printer or... Iâd better stop before I give myself nightmaresâ

ROFL! I have actually thought about auctioning off something saying it was haunted. Because there are no guarantees with haunted items. And you buy at your own risk knowing nothing may happen. So a person could make a small chunk of change auctioning off haunted shit. LOL Try it Friday...you know you want to. LOL

yea true...
Hmm...
Auction of an old raggidy doll the one that eyes move...
Say it's eyes randomly open, and sometimes I can hear it talking...
I could also say I walked in one day and saw it standing upright!

There ya go! See you already got a back story for it. Do it, and i can almost guarantee a little chunk of moola out of it. Start the bid at $25 at least and DONT give the "Buy It Now" option. Make them bid on it. lol

You used to visit your grandmother so much when you were little that she actually turned one of the rooms in the house to a bedroom just for you. When she did this, it was a big surprise for you, and when you walked into the room for the first time, there was the doll, sitting right on your new bed. At first, you were very happy. Not only did you have your own room at your grandmother's house, but you also had a new doll to tote around, which you named Elsa. However, that didn't last very long. On your first night sleeping in your new bed, everything was fine, you cuddled the doll (Elsa) to your chest and fell right asleep. The next night, however, was a different story. It was a Saturday night, your Grandma tucked you in, and then it was lights out. The doll was pressed against your chest once again, and shortly after having a chat with your new doll baby, you fell right asleep. It wasn't long before you woke up due to a pinching pain in your side. You scratched at it, then fell back asleep. The next morning you woke up and your side was really sore. You lifted up your shirt and found marks on your side that looked like you had been bitten by something human-like.
That was your first incident with the doll, but it most certainly wasn't the last, nor was it your scariest moment with the doll. You were so scared of the doll, that you would never take it home with you, no matter how much your grandma insisted. You would just tell her that you wanted to leave it there so you would never forget it when you visited. That way you would always have your bed buddy to cuddle up with when you fell asleep. Secretly, you were so scared of it that you hated the thing. When staying at your grandmother's, you would shut it up in the closet when you went to bed. However, when your grandmother died, she left the doll to you. You couldn't refuse it, and you think destroying it or throwing it away would just be disrepectful.

I was thinking of calling it Isabelle, but that's kind of typical. I thought Elsa would work better.

We could probably make some dough at it. Abigail would also be a good name for an evil doll.

I bet someone who is really superticious would buy the doll or some ghost hunters. I mean if somebody will buy a ghost out of a bottle then why would someone by and evil doll?

Ive seen some of those "haunted dolls" going for $200 to $350 on eBay before. And there was a famous haunted painting that was on eBay several years ago that got quite a bit of attention. People will buy anything if you convince enough to.

If people message you to complain, tell them that although you gave them the doll, the ghost stayed at home and stalks you to this day, angered that you gave its toy away XD
