JustinTFirefly here...Not really new, just recently active. Some stuff:

I don't really have a favorite sub-genre of horror, though I am partial to the classics (Night of the Living Dead and earlier), 80s slashers and exploitation.

One of the reasons I joined this forum is to learn more about good Asian horror. I've only seen the Machine Girl, Audition and Reincarnation. I'm discussing some other possibilities with FreddyFingers right now in the Horror Imports section under "Tokyo Gore Police." Any suggestions?

Also going to get this out of the way as I'm sure I'll be flamed for it eventually...I'm a huge fan of Rob Zombie and Repo! The Genetic Opera...There I said it...Don't hate me Undecided

Welcome aboard, Justin.

Can't say that I'm a big fan of Zombie's movies, but I do loves me some Repo! Love to see the shadowcast we have here in Dallas. They put on a good show.

Welcome
Out running a killer is like out running a bear, you don't have to run just have a friend that is slower than you!

Hey there and welcome. The only movie I don't like that rob zombie did was the haunted world of el superbeasto. Repo was a pretty good movie.

A good bunch of us like REPO over here... you can see how we complained about the recent ripoff ^_^

And I personally like Rob Zombie's work, not sure if many others do (mostly House of 1000 Corpses) Big Grin

As for your reason for being here; I could use some better knowledge about foreign horror myself x.X
“The Fright Night remake is a film which taps into the audience’s deepest rooted fears, such as those of vampires throwing motorcycles at them. I dread the thought of a vampire throwing a refrigerator or a deskjet printer or... I’d better stop before I give myself nightmares”

Very cool that most everybody digs Repo! My wife and I are pretty huge fans. We're hitting the Full Moon Tattoo and Horror convention in Nashville later this month and we'll get to meet Bill Mosely (again) and Terrance Zdunich so we're pretty excited about it!

I usually get a lot of guff for my love for Rob. House of 1000 Corpses is without a doubt my favorite movie ever, even though it's like a 90 minute music video. I have a tremendous amount of respect for the man and I'll have to admit that because of HO1KC, Rob could video a pile of steaming shit and I will swear it was gold. I'll say, though, that I'm not a very big fan of H2...I respect a lot of what he tried to do and one has to give him credit for breaking a lot of the rules with Myers, but I wasn't feeling it the same as his others...Everybody's got a flop sometime, though.

Anyway, thanks everyone for the welcome :-)

I loved Repo! bought the soundtrack too.

Dig Rob Zombie as well. I enjoy his style, and really enjoyed House of 1000 corpses & Devils rejects. Loved H1, but not reallyH2 though.

House of 1000 corpse is my favorite movie of his and I also love devil rejects. H1 was good but not the best and I expected a lot more from H2.
