LilithCorey Haims Cause Of Death -Toxicology Report
#1
Corey Haim toxicology report: Corey Haim did not die from a drug overdose

Despite Corey Haim’s long battle with drug addiction, his untimely death in March was not caused by drugs, prescription or otherwise, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner.

Haim was 38 when he died on March 10, 2010 in California. He had been suffering from Pneumonia and the coroner also found Corey Haim to have an enlarged heart. The coroner also found that Haim’s heart muscle was thicker than usual and that he suffered from hardened arteries. The coroner’s report said, “Haim died of diffuse alveolar damage and community acquired pneumonia, along with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with coronary arteriosclerosis.”

The toxicology report took weeks to be completed and made public. The coroner found that there were 8 types of drugs in Haim’s system, but that none of them were in high enough amounts to contribute to his death. Some of the drugs were specifically to treat flu symptoms, though marijuana was also found in Haim’s blood.

Corey Haim was linked to an illegal prescription drug ring by California Attorney General Jerry Brown, after Haim’s death. Brown accused Haim of doctor shopping to acquire over 500 prescriptions for medications which included Vicodin and OxyContin.

Yeah ive known about it for a while to. But i havent been around to do much. So when i had an extra few mins today, thought id throw it up on the board! Yeah im glad it wasnt drugs either. I had a nagging feeling it was health issues, think i even mentioned that on an older post about Corey.

Sure, but years of drug use in probability caused the enlarged heart and complications to pneumonia. His CURRENT use of drugs did not lead to his death but his very hard and abusive life style did. It's a shame he didn't get the help he needed when he was younger.

Well cant say for sure, i am no doctor. But many celebs have died from harder drug use and these types of complications were none existent. However, going back over many video footages of interviews, the Two Coreys etc. you get the sense he was hiding something health wise. Which lead to my beliefs in the first place. Heavy drug use can do and cause many things, yes. But can not rule this out either. And i will always believe there was more to it, then drugs just because of what all i have gone over and researched. And it is sad he would not get help for his drug addiction. But from what i have learned, many tried to get him help. He simply refused. Most of the time he seemed in denial that he even had a problem or he was just being evasive about it. You can tell that in the footage of when he and a therapist was doing a session together. You can only do so much for someone that wont help themselves. Sad

I would def. agree that although he didn't die from a drug overdose, there's no way they didn't at least play some part in it. No way his body went untouched by years and years of drug abuse. While most of us were in school or playing video games, he was doing drugs. Just like athletes that die from heart attacks, if they hadn't of bulked up to 300 pounds of muscle and abused steroids, they may not have had heart attacks, regardless if the drugs were in their system at the time of death or not. Just something to think about. No one will ever convince me that drugs didn't play at least some part in his death whether small or vital...

Well i never said drugs didnt play a part in it period. Im sure it did to a certain extent. What im saying is maybe there was some medical issues he couldnt quite grasp and or he was in alot of pain and obviously covered it up with drug use. He found comfort in it etc. Much like with Kurt Cobain whos terrible stomach issues constantly kept him in pain, so he relied on drug use to ease his suffering. Therefore an addiction developes and shit happens. But thats another topic all in its self.

Yeah but the fact that Corey Haim started experimenting with drugs when he was a young teenager, which in today's world is nothing out of the norm, but back then it was, makes it harder to believe he was doing it to cover up anything. An alcoholic drinks and drinks and drinks, and even if they do stop drinking, their liver is usually so damaged, it doesn't matter. The only thing I think Corey was trying to cover up with his drug use was the pain from a failed career and losing nearly all of his friends, and even the ones who CLAIMED to be his friends, never even hung around him.

Well i am sure that is one thing that had him very down in the dumps was loosing friends etc he thought were real friends. But who hasnt gone thru that? If we all became drug addicts because of something like that, then we would all be fucked up. There most likely isnt one person in Hollywood that hasnt gotten themselves into a drug issue at one time or another minor or major. And again their have been celebs with harder drug use then Corey and came out alot better off health wise when they died of it. And to say its unlikely he was covering anything up health wise because of the era he started in isnt something that can be proved fact. We dont know what was going on with him in the truth of the matter when you get down to it because Corey would never confide in anyone about anything, not even Corey F. If anyone would know anything on a deeper level Corey F. would have and he doesnt. Even if it was just mental health issues, its still a health issue and some mental health issues are classified as illnesses. If he was suffering from the pain of a lost career, loss of friends, loss of everything then its highly likely he suffered from mental health issues. Which he should have gotten help for immediately. But as anyone can see from archival footage and research, he avoided therapy of any kind. And if you did get him in a therapists office, you can see him become irritated and offended at some of the assumptions the therapist made about him. So either she hit the nail on the head or he was upset that she was misreading him, but he wasnt ready to talk about whatever they hell was eating at him. And that is my point. I dont think its as cut and dry as a lost career, lost friends, drug use etc. I think there is something else we dont know about and most likely ever will know now. And it could quite possibly be his mother being very ill, even though their relationship was rocky. It still doesnt take from the fact she was his mother. Anyway, who knows.

Well it also can't be proven that he WAS covering something up, and I personally know some of his friends (not Corey Feldman) but his REAL friends, some of whom he dated. And alot of us have problems in life but don't turn to drugs because we have willpower or have other "drugs." Some of us watch a movie when times are hard, or work out, and read a book. Corey Haim did drugs. And as far as most people know, when he died, he had been clean for a while, with a relapse here and there which isn't uncommon for drug users. Much like bodybuilders, at the time of their death, they are clean, but alot of them die from rare heart defects and whatnot, due to prolonged use of steroids, and then you have some people, who are alive and well, he used steroids, such as Arnold Schwarzenegger. Whether or not Corey was covering up something, and using drugs to hide the pain, doesn't matter to me. I know tons of people, one in particular who had lung cancer, and had the opportunity to be prescribed medical marijuana, and didn't. I feel no sympathy for people who use drugs, and say they can't help it, because they can. It's not a disease in my eyes, it's a sign of weakness. I only feel sorry for the people around them they hurt and fuck over. In the long run, Corey isn't the one who suffered from drug use, but the people around him he stole from, used, fucked over, and hurt. I don't hate Corey, I thought he was an awesome guy, but that doesn't cover up his drug use, and never will. You may be right, there could have been so much more that we don't know, but if we did know, would it really matter or make a difference? I doubt it. And also, some people go to therapists, and don't talk. More people go to therapists and tell them nothing, than those that do. Even though your supposed to feel comfortable talking to them, the majority of people don't.

I am not saying that his drug use was a disease and we should feel sorry for his ass. I dont have sympathy for anyone that does that shit etc. But if your saying that being depressed and having mental issues/emotional issues etc is just a sign of weakness or whatever, then thats just a shitty thing to say. Because thats bullshit. Other then that you can have it your way, i will stand by my thoughts and opinions on the matter and you can have yours and we can both be happy about it. Im not here to change anyones mind about the event of his death. I am merely discussing other probabilities. Now have a nice day.

Mental health is not a weakness, but resulting to drug use to handle it is.
