American X Factor vs American Idol

What do you all think of Simon Cowell's new show, American X Factor? Do you prefer it to American Idol, or are you a fan of the latter?

I just don't get it. We had Pop Idol, which I think lasted two series here... it morphs into American Idol over there and its eaten up. lol - it just doesn't die! Simon Fuller, Nigel Lythgoe and Simon Cowell do seem to like taking these shows over there and making a shed load of money with them. I just don't think the constant onslaught would work over here. We have it bashed upon us at a more measured pace I think.
