Chicken in many forms - Plain, fried, grilled, General Tso's, barbecued... Big Grin

Sushi roll,marinated mozzarella balls,broccoli rabe or rapini,baked ziti, and so on....

My all time favorite is Dim Sum. I so need to find a good Dim Sum place in the Detroit area. Close second would be pad thai or any other type of thai food. I also love chinese food, if it's real, none of the americanized crap. Mmm japanese noodles also totally rock.

Sushi, very rare steaks, raw oysters, just killed soft shell crabs, barbecue chicken, and barbecue. Fo Really Yo.

I myself am a fan of pretty much ANY variety of food you could think of. Anything from steak, chicken livers, and deer meat to sushi, fried calamari, and oysters. I really haven't found a type of food that I can't enjoy to some extent.

Dude, calamari. YUMMY!!!! Love it with a roasted red pepper aioli sauce. I agree with ya Brown. I'm a chef, and I tell people that it's not the meat or ingredients or vegetables that they don't like, just how it's prepared. I hear all this all the time-"I hate ________, but it is good when you make it." It's all in the wrist, baby.

There's very few things I can honestly say I hate when it comes to food. Snails is one thing, it's not so much the taste as it is the texture, it just won't go down. I've tried snails prepared different ways and I just can't do it.

Chicken feet is one thing i just can't bring myself to try, I've seen them so many times at dim sum, but I just can't go there, not a clue if they're actually good or not, my dad's had them in China and said it was very strange.

I love calamari as well. I've used it in soup before, I've made a spicy chili soup with lemongrass and tossed in some shrimps, scallops and calamari rings, it was great, the calamari's texture in soup was very interesting, it turned out really tender.

It's weird, there's only a couple of things that I won't eat and it's usually based on texture rather than taste. I'm picky with that, I don't know why. Just like I hate touching certain types of velvets and I hate touching suede, to me that's like nails on a chalkboard.

I love trying new dishes. I've been desperate to find an asian market around here, I miss Montreal's chinatown. I used to go shopping there all the time, in the summer it was one of the cheapest places to get fruits and vegetables.

One of the best things I ever had was wild boar sausage. Before we moved to the US, we lived just 3 blocks away from the Jean Talon Market in Montreal. I loved going there, in the summer we'd go there to pick up fruits and veggies and we'd have lunch there, just picking up things here and there. There was always tons of little food vendors that'd sell like different types of sausage, sandwiches, crepes etc.

I'll try anything at least once or twice. If I don't like it the first time, I'll generally try it again done a different way, to see if it was just the way it was cooked.

I just thought of one of my all time favorite dessert. Egg tarts, not sure what they're actually supposed to be called, we used to get them at dim sum, while they were still warm, those are so yummy.

Correct me if I'm wrong though, but usually you can change the texture of a food? I mean, alot of people hate mushrooms, but they like breaded-mushrooms with a splash of ranch. And are you really a chef Loki? I've always thought about getting into something like that...

I think it depends on what it is. I've tried snails cooked the french way, I couldn't even swallow it, the taste was fine, that's not the problem. A couple of years ago, I tried snails again at a vietnamese restaurant, still couldn't eat them for the same reason.

I've managed to eat clams once or twice, most of the time, I really don't care for the texture, but my dad made me try some at a restaurant once and those were actually pretty good. I guess I'm a tad weird sometimes.

For example, I cannot eat fresh mangoes, I've tried, I really do not like the taste, unless I'm having a really bad allergy day, then I love them. I love mango nectar, mango flavored stuff and dried mangoes, I just really don't like fresh mangoes for some reason, it's almost like, to me, they have a radish after taste.

There's only one vegetable I won't eat and that's pickled beets. I tried a stupid diet once, where you had to eat over a cup of pickled beets, after two slices I almost made myself sick. I've never had them any other way, I'd gladly try them prepared differently, but nobody could ever make me eat pickled beets again, just the smell of it upsets my stomach.

I love mushrooms in any form, but I think they almost always keep somewhat of the same texture. My mom makes some mean pickled mushrooms, they're kinda sweet, garlicky and sour at the same time. They always make me think of xmas, that's when she'd usually make them.

I used to be super picky when I was younger. I lived in Montreal for 10 years, there's so many different cuisines around that you almost have no choice but to open up to it. I realized that the worst thing that could happen is that I wouldn't like something. My dad has traveled all over the world for business, so he's pretty open to different foods, we'd go to different restaurants together. Growing up on pizza made everything else seem gourmet. Hubby is a chef. Trust me, having a chef for a hubby means occasionally you get an amazing meal. Usually, it comes with the messiest kitchen you've ever seen. I keep trying to make him realize that we don't have a house elf to clean up.:banghead:
