West Virginia
Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum / Weston State Hospital
This asylum was open for admittance in 1864 and originally designed to house 250 patients, but at one time was home to over 2,400. Eventually, due to deteriorating conditions, the asylum was shut down in 1994. There have been numerous reports that some of the patients still roam the halls of this asylum.
