A few pics from our 6/26 /11 bluefin tuna trip. Pictured are friends Rick and Steve. Both have served in our crew before. The tuna were from 25-50lbs.

They're all question marks.

Unfortunately I lost one right at gaff. I can blame the fact I was using a new lever drag reel and had just a little too much drag tension [that will never happen again], but excuses are like assholes, and I blew it on a nice fish. I rather doubt the chunk of tuna Rick was nice enough to give me would feed us all [besides bluefin is best raw as sashimi].
We have a 2.5 day trip leaving on Friday, so I'll be having redemtion on that one. Seriously, I can't remember the last time I broke a fish off, but shit happens, and my style is to ''horse'' them in.
My target next run, aside from tuna, will be mako shark while night fishing.

So the pressure is on, eh? Now I'm scared...........The tuna fillet Rick gave me was astounding! The quality of the meat on a 50 lber is fantastic. :drool:
