As you will see if you havent already, but you will..i am very critical of remakes. And i contribute that to the fact that i grew up in the era of all these originals. And to me those are the best. Not saying there will never be a remake that i wont like. Cause i am open minded and hopeful with any remake that comes on the scene. But really A Nightmare on Elm Street remake? God i am gonna have such a hard time trying to review this when i see it...LOL. Cause to me there is only one true Freddy Kruger and that is Robert Englund! In this case Robert made Freddy who he is, not the other way around. So seeing a new Freddy is going to be really difficult for me. But i am looking forward to seeing this new remake just to see how well it was put together and how true they hold to the story. And also for the most part to see how this new Freddy stands up to the original Freddy Kruger! I promise to give the movie its props where its deserved.

I TOTALLY agree with you on this!! The Nightmare on Elm Street movie is very close to me and I don't want to see them screw it up. The trailer was okay but I'm looking forward to to it because I'm curious to see what they will do.
I dunno...
For me the mask looked horrible!
Hopefully they will fix his mas problem!

Same here
Of course i will see it, cause I'm a Freddy fan, but I'm skeptical about it. At least they got a decent guy to play Freddy and not some person that would ruin him. Of course I will always think of Robert Englund as Freddy

Oh yes... I agree with you dr.mambo ...Englund has said that he enjoys the role of Freddy as it gives him a break from always playing the nice guy; indeed, many people who have worked with Englund attest to his congeniality
Englund is one of only two actors to play a horror character eight consecutive times, the other being Doug Bradley, who portrayed the Pinhead character eight times in the Hellraiser film series.
He looked like a burnt up alien.

True, I hope it turns out good lol.
There having a screening of the remake at my local theater later this week so ill post up a review of it afterwards
This is the first of all the remakes out there that I was against. Then Michael Bay came into play and I seen the trailer. I gotta say, as much as I hate to say it, I am excited for this remake too. Nightmare on Elm Street is my all time favorite franchise.

Bingo.
The ratio of good remakes to bad remakes is horribly dis-proportioned. This one being so "close" to my heart makes me want to hate it - Freddy is my favorite, all time horror icon. Englund defined Freddy & his sadistic humor - I'm all for making it "darker" (New Nightmare was AWESOME), but everything I've seen, from his new look, to his voice, to iconic shit they're leaving out (No exploding bed blood scene? WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT?) makes me die a little inside. At least they could have tossed Englund a cameo.
And seeing Michael Bay's name associated with it makes me ill - if you want a movie loaded with CGI and big 'splosions, but could give two shits about acting and writing, he's your man.
The digital FX were godawful. its a shame.
I was... very disappointed.
I hated why the they ruined the scene when freddy came out of the wall with the cheap cgi
I hated that they had the hand in the tub but did nothing with the scene. It was a cheap homage to the original one.
A lot of those scenes that were playing tribute to the original all felt forced in.

Dont'cha hate it when that happens?

You can pay tribute to the original movie but for the love of God do it right!! Don't just lazily throw a tribute in their that serves no purpose at all!! FUCK!!!!
