I saw 2 of them only. And both sucked.
This wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great. But I think that they could def. build on this and put out some decent sequels in the future. I'd really prefer they didn't, as I feel a remake is enough, but if they decide to do so, I wouldn't expect them to be horrible. Jackie wasn't half bad either.

The first 'tribute' wasn't bad. The second one served no purpose in the film.

No, in the remake there are 2 scenes that are direct tributes to the original movie and those are: the death of Kris by way of being beaten up on the ceiling, and Freddy sticking his hand out of the tub with Nancy in it.
I was talking about the ones when freddys hand comes out of the tub and freddy coming out of the wall.
so there's 3 then, the tub, the wall, and the ceiling.
The ceiling one wasn't so much as a direct tribute. She got tossed around here and there and one slash to the chest. In the original the chick was flying everywhere ad getting sliced up as it went on.
It wasn't a direct tribute but it did pay it's "respects" to the original scene. Although that was one of the best parts of the movie. One of two... best parts.
I loved the ceiling scene in the new one. He cuts that chick up.
I thought it was alright. Not great, but alright. I prefer the F13 remake over this one.
