Yeah, hmmmmmm, ya know, when it comes to defining Jason as a zombie or not, you first have to define a zombie. So...........................................................


Definitions of 'zombie'

"only an automaton wouldn't have noticed"

Okay, I do believe he fit definition 1,2 and 4. So yes, in that case he is a zombie.

But...............
He doesn't eat flesh, he cannot turn another into a zombie through a virus or curse, he CAN be shot in the head and survive.

All in all, I think the best definition of what Jason is would be a reverent.

Reverents are intelligent undead who return from the grave to get revenge, normally on the ones who killed them. They cannot be destroyed until they destroy said people who killed them.I just think the makers of the different movies needed more money, so he seeks revenge on people who fit the profile of said people who killed him, so he's more of a reverent undead serial killer. Or, he's a zombie.

I would drop the serial killer part and go with mass murderer. Serial killers usually have a set profile of their victims. Although I haven't seen all of Jason's movies, he seems to be really random. It was camp counselors, then he added the town crazy. People that get in his way is not a profile. Hence, mass murderer. People at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Jason cannot be categorized. I think he belongs in a category of his own. Jason is not a zombie, werewolf, vampire, mass murderer, serial killer, etc... Jason is far beyond that. Jason is Jason.
