Trivia for A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)
* Originally intended to be a prequel, but the idea was dropped.
* Some filming took place at City Methodist Church, a large, long abandoned church in Gary, Indiana.
* This will be the first "Nightmare" movie that won't star Robert Englund as Freddy Kruegger. Englund has played Freddy in every movie, including Freddy vs. Jason (2003) and the TV series "Freddy's Nightmares" (1988).
* Samuel Bayer is the first music video director to direct an Elm Street film.
* Was moved from its original 16th April release date to 30th April.
* Jackie Earle Haley actually auditioned for the part of Glen in the original A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984). Which went to Johnny Depp who went along with him to the audition.
* The Jesse character in this film has nothing to do with Jesse Walsh from A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985).
* Amanda Crew auditioned for the role of Nancy Thompson.
* Kyle Gallner was first to be cast.
* Billy Bob Thornton was considered to play Freddy Krueger.
