Finally got to see this, but its been a good while back since i mentioned about it.

Surprisingly as a stand alone film it was pretty decent. But trying to stack this up against the original it didnt even come close. The rape scenes were toned down, the brutality was toned down. I did find her revenge scenes just a tad bit more brutal then what they put her through. Which in my opinion thats how it should be. But even that was toned down i felt. I almost thought they were going to let the mentally challenged dude have some mercy in the remake... but karma is a bitch!

Last word... i recommend seeing the original, find it on the Wizard Label on VHS for all its glory to see....the DVD seemed chopped down to me.

I too found that quite appropriate-but what I cant figure out in the remake is what the hell she did with the pervert sherriff's little girl -I love the original too I particularly like how emotionless CamilleKeaton was when she enacted her revenge -for example when she told Stanley "Suck it bitch" -unlike the remake where she was a screaming lunatic-but the remake had so much nastier payback-I mean after all these were nasty unregenerate people to do such an awful thing a cautionary tale PAYBACK'S A BITCH

I really like the original and I think Camille Keaton was superb in it. The remake was a little ridiculous. While it does give some satisfaction for the viewer in terms of gore the premise is too far fetched. A woman who has been abused and raped does not waste her time with pully systems and elaborate booby traps in order to exact her revenge. Stupid.

More likely than not she would have just gotten a gun and hunted them down-she kind of had to stay hidden cause they were activly hunting her even while she was hunting them
